How to submit an article/post to Dadosphere
- Click My Articles on the left Dad Menu.
- Click "New"
- Enter your Title (think first and foremost, "What would someone type enter a search to find this information," which will help you boost traffic to your article).
- Choose either Dad Stages or Dad Types as your section
- Choose the category in the next line
- Enter ONLY INTRO TEXT
(your first paragraph, and what you want to show on home page as
teaser) in the box here.
- Scroll down and enter the rest
of your content in the SECOND box. You will see icons for some basic
formatting, such as bold and italic, here.
- You will see "allowed tags," and that is all
that will show. I have done this because pasting from Word adds a ton
of junk code and makes pages look awful (for example, the site is on
Arial, but if you wrote an article in Word with Times New Roman, that's
how it would appear). This means that articles would require heavy
editing straight in the html source code. Due to this, you will lose
some formatting when you click save such as headers. If there is something you need in an article beyond the allowed code, please
This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
to request the addition (and include the relevant code).
- To add an
image, click the little picture icon. In the bottom half of the popup box, you
will see a section that says “Browse.” Find the little green upload button
(mouse over if needed), and then find image. Check the box that says select
after upload. Then insert. You can change the size right in this upload box, but be sure to leave it checked to leave the size ratio correct. Please do not insert an image wider than 300 pixels, and please align images to the left or right.
- Click save.
- Your article will go into an approval queue. You should get an email notifying you it was received, and another notification once it goes live.
How to Insert Adsense Code
First, visit http://www.google.com/adsense to create an account if you don't have one yet. Your Google ID is NOT your email address!!!
Once you have an account:
- To find the Publisher ID, please log into your Google account.
- On the top right, you will see a top right line with your email address, logout _link_, etc.
- The line directly below says Publisher ID:
- The string RIGHT AFTER that looks like pub-12293984383202020 is what you want to copy and paste into your profile here on Dadosphere.
If
you already have Adsense going on other sites, you might consider
creating a channel so you can figure out which revenue is coming from
which site.
- To add a channel, click on Adsense Setup tab, then Channels at the top.
- Click Add New Custom Channel and follow instructions. Alternately, you can click Add URL Channel and type in dadosphere.com, then save.
- After creating a Custom Channel, if you opt to go that route, you want to place the number assigned to the channel into the Adsense Channel slot in your profile. DO NOT use words.
- To add this information to your profile, log into your account.
- Click "My Profile" in the top left menu
- Mouse over "Edit," and then choose Update Your Profile
- Add the Adsense numbers in the appropriate slots
